KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 — Police have opened an investigation into a fight involving two school students at a football field near a mosque in Section 19 in Shah Alam on Friday.
Shah Alam police chief ACP Sarudin Samah said a report was lodged by the father of one of the students over the incident, which occurred at about 1pm, according to a Berita Harian report today.
Initial investigations found that the two boys, aged 13 and 14, knew each other and attended the same school.
“The altercation only involved the two students, although it is believed several other students witnessed the incident at the scene.
“One of the students later sought treatment at Shah Alam Hospital and was diagnosed with a soft tissue injury,” he said in a statement today.
Sarudin said police would conduct a thorough investigation, including obtaining the necessary orders to proceed with inquiries and calling all relevant witnesses to assist in the case.
He said the matter is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
“If convicted, the offender may face up to one year’s imprisonment, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both,” he said.
