
Kota Kinabalu: Police seized 51.624kg of methamphetamine worth RM2.581 million and arrested six suspects in separate operations in Papar and Penampang, Info X reported.
State Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun said the operations on Aug 19 and 25 involved four men and two women.
He said the Papar operation resulted in the seizure of 1.624kg of methamphetamine worth RM81,200 and the arrest of four suspects, with the drugs believed to be intended for the local market.
In Penampang, police arrested two local men aged 45 and 46 and seized 50kg of methamphetamine worth RM2.5 million from two vehicles at Jalan Bundusan, Beverly Hills Plaza. All six suspects tested negative for drugs.
The cases are being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, while the suspects have been remanded until Sept 2.
