Polling passed off peacefully in Kapurthala, Sultanpur Lodhi, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr and Hoshiarpur.

There were few incidents of skirmishes, allegations of presence of outsiders, use of unfair means and appeasement of voters in various areas, including Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala, Shahkot, Phillaur, Garhshankar, Adampur and other areas. However, no incident of violence got reported from anywhere.

There was a heated exchange of words between the supporters of AAP halqa in charge Sajjan Singh Cheema and Sultanpur Lodhi Independent MLA Rana Inder Partap Singh with the former levelling charges of use of money power against

the latter.

In Shahkot, Congress MLA Hardev Singh Laddi Sherowalia alleged that the ruling party had called in several youth from outside in the wee hours to create panic among the voters.
