Real Madrid are considering deregistering Arda Guler for the first-half of the season.
Guler has been released from Real's US preseason tour due to a knee injury.
Mundo Deportivo says Guler could undergo surgery - which would mean him being sidelined for five months. If he was to go under the knife, Real would deregister Guler and replace him on the senior squad.
The Turk would be cleared to be re-registered for the second-half of the season once he is fully fit.
Guler joined Real this summer from Fenerbahce.
