INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe played no role in Richard Arnold's exit from Manchester United.
That is the view of The Mail, who state that Arnold chose to leave of his own accord.
The club's former chief executive was not well received by fans for his work in the Mason Greenwood situation over the summer.
Ratcliffe may have eventually told Arnold to leave, but he is not said to have done so in this situation.
One who may be asked to move on is football director John Murtough, as Ratcliffe has plans to install his own man in that post.
The likes of Paul Mitchell and Dougie Freedman are being mentioned with the role.
