Reward of RM5k offered as police hunt suspect who allegedly set woman alight in Kepong

A RM5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect who allegedly doused a woman with fuel before setting her alight in a shocking attack at Taman Pusat Kepong yesterday.

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng described the assault as “an act of shocking cruelty” and urged police to swiftly track down the perpetrator.

“The person responsible must be found, arrested and made to face the full force of the law,” he said in a statement today.

Lim said the reward would be paid for credible information that directly led to the suspect’s arrest.

He also warned members of the public against approaching or confronting the suspect, urging anyone with information to pass it directly to the police.

Those with information are urged to contact investigating officer Insp Muhammad Amri Firdaus Jusoh at 010-9198209, the Sentul district police headquarters at 03-40482222, or the nearest police station immediately. - August 10, 2026
