DATIN Seri Rosmah Mansor has expressed gratitude for offers of financial support from friends in Malaysia and overseas to help her husband, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, meet the RM50 million fine that is a condition of the conditional pardon allowing him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.
Rosmah said friends from Brunei, Italy, Singapore, Canada and several other countries had contacted her following the latest developments involving Najib, expressing both their happiness and their desire to contribute.
“They contacted me to express their happiness over the latest developments involving Datuk Seri Najib, while also expressing their desire to make a contribution.
“They only want to see Datuk return to his family. That is all. I never expected that so many people still care and are willing to come forward to help with such sincerity,” she said in a statement today.
Rosmah said the support had made her realise which friends had remained with her family through difficult times.
“Today, I realise who our friends are who have always stood by us through good times and bad,” she said.
She also expressed appreciation for the prayers, affection and sincerity shown towards her family.
As at Sept 19, the Najib Razak Solidarity Fund had collected RM1 million, according to an announcement by UMNO secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki on social media.
The fund was launched by UMNO to help Najib meet the RM50 million fine, which is among the conditions attached to the arrangement allowing him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until Aug 23, 2028.
Najib remains at Kajang Prison pending fulfilment of the conditions and formal implementation of the house-arrest arrangement.
The decision followed the 64th meeting of the Pardons Board for the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya at Istana Negara. - September 21, 2026
