Kota Kinabalu: The State Government is committed to nurturing entrepreneurial ambition among youth while positioning Sabah as a regional business launchpad, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
His speech was delivered by Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun at the Sabah International Business Luncheon Talk (SIBLT2026) at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here on Thursday.
Hajiji said the State aspires to become a gateway where ideas meet capital and local enterprises connect with markets across Borneo, Bimp-Eaga, Asean, and beyond.
He noted that building the future requires collaboration between the government, businesses, investors, academia, and communities, with the ultimate ambition of helping Sabah-based firms become regional and global players.
Urging the nearly 750 business leaders, investors, and policymakers present to turn connections into enduring partnerships, Hajiji also commended keynote speaker and Sunway Group founder Tan Sri Sir Jeffrey Cheah for embodying the spirit of enterprise.
