Kota Kinabalu: The State Police Gallery opened to the public on Thursday, with Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun and his wife, State Police Perkep chairperson Datin Nurhayatie Farhana Abdullah, cutting the ribbon.
Pupils from SK Kepayan were among the first members of the public to visit the gallery on opening day, accompanied by their teachers.
Located at the State Police Contingent Headquarters, the gallery traces Sabah’s policing history from 1881 to the present through hundreds of exhibits, including the original Cobbold Report.
It joins a small number of police heritage sites in Malaysia, alongside the national police museum in Kuala Lumpur and two other galleries.
The gallery is open from Tuesday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm, with admission currently free and registration required.
