Kota Kinabalu: Sabah received 950 Boer goats and 140 Jersey Friesian dairy cattle from Australia at Kota Kinabalu International Airport on Tuesday.
State Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Minister Datuk Jamawi Jaafar said the livestock would undergo quarantine for about a week in Papar before distribution begins on Oct 28.
Another 255 dairy cattle are expected to arrive on Oct 27.
He said Sabah would introduce a 10 per cent bond system to prevent breeders from selling breeding animals prematurely.
