Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s cases continued to dip, with 271 cases reported on Friday, from 281 the day earlier.

Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the number of test samples were much lower which was 2,678 on Friday compared to 3,088 on Saturday.

“However, the positivity rate is 10.6 per cent, higher than 10.04 per cent the day before.

“The lower number of test samples should result in a much lower number of infections, but due to a higher positivity rate, the number of cases did not change much,” he said in a statement, Friday.

Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 71 cases, followed by Sandakan (45), Penampang (26), Tawau (21), Papar (17), Tuaran (17) and Lahad Datu (16).

“Seven districts did not record any new cases,” said Masidi.

He said 267 out of 272 cases were category one and two infections, while one case was recorded in category three and four in category four.

No deaths or new clusters were identified.
