Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s caseload rose to 143 on Tuesday from 119 the day earlier, due to a higher number of test samples and more districts recording a rise in cases, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

“The number of test samples contributed to the figures. There were 1,993 samples the day before but it rose to 2,988 on Tuesday.

“Eleven districts recorded a rise compared to six that recorded a decrease. These include Penampang (+15), Beaufort (+8), Putatan (+8) and Tawau (+5).

“Only nine districts are free of infections compared to 17 the day before,” he said in a statement, Tuesday.

Masidi said 141 out of 143 cases were category one and two infections, while one case was each recorded in category four and five. 85 per cent were sporadic infections.

No deaths or new clusters were identified.
