Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has called on the Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Shareda) and the private sector to play an active role in shaping the state’s Smart City initiatives.

He said two Smart Cities planned for Penampang and Kota Kinabalu would mark a new era of urban innovation, combining technology, sustainability and community-driven design.

In a speech delivered by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam at Shareda’s 47th Anniversary Dinner on Saturday, Hajiji said the State Government remained committed to creating a business-friendly environment that fosters investment and innovation.

He assured that efforts to provide affordable, quality housing for the B40 and M40 groups would continue, while encouraging sustainable and green development in line with the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya plan.

Hajiji also commended Shareda’s strong partnership with the State Government, noting that the property sector remains a key driver of Sabah’s economy by generating investment, employment and long-term value for the people.
