Oh yes, the classic blame game, a favorite pastime of politicians everywhere, is raring its ugly head in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.
It seems that Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, the Chief Minister of Kedah, has stumbled upon a profound revelation: the government is too busy criticising the Opposition to actually focus on, well, governing.
Sanusi's lamentations about the unity government's preoccupation with fault-finding rather than problem-solving are truly enlightening. “Have you ever come across this kind of people where they spend every day looking for faults in the Opposition, except for the (unity) government itself? People who have plenty of time to attack the Opposition prove that they are not doing anything.”
Who would have thought that spending all day pointing fingers would leave little time for actual work?
His nostalgia for the good old days under Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's leadership, where they allegedly had no time for fault-finding because they were too busy moving the country forward, is heartwarming.
Ah, the memories of a simpler time when all they had to worry about was, well, everything they're still worrying about now.
But fear not, my fellow Malaysians, for Sanusi assures us that we can trust our own judgment in evaluating the current government's leadership because nothing says effective governance like asking the people to assess the government's performance while simultaneously admitting to a lack of solutions for various issues.
And let's not forget the dire warning of a future filled with empty promises and stagnation if the same government is allowed to continue leading. It's almost as if Sanusi is trying to say, “Vote for change, because clearly, we've run out of ideas.”
In conclusion, Sanusi's words serve as a poignant reminder that in the grand circus of Malaysian politics, the show must go on, even if it's just a performance of finger-pointing and empty promises.
