Haryana Cabinet Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi chaired the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting at Panchayat Bhawan in Ambala City on Friday, and directed the officials to resolve the complaints on priority.

As many as 12 complaints were listed for the meeting, of which two were resolved, while the remaining were kept pending for the next meeting. While forming committees to resolve the pending complaints, the minister directed the officials to present detailed reports regarding the pending complaints at the next meeting.

Minister Krishan Kumar also directed the officials to ensure that the complainants remain present at the meetings, even if the grievances have been resolved. “If the complainants can come to the meetings to raise their grievances, they must also come to give their statements. The complaints will not be disposed of till the complainant gives a statement in the meeting,” the minister said.

Naraingarh MLA Shalley Chaudhary, Mullana MLA Pooja Chaudhry, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Singh Tomer, SP Ajit Singh Shekhawat, BJP district chief Mandeep Rana and several other officials attended the meeting.

He further directed the officials to ensure that the complainants are satisfied. “The objective of the meeting is to satisfy the complainant. The officials must find the solutions to resolve the issues,” Bedi further said.

During the meeting, residents of Bihta and Tepla villages said that a seasonal river flows near their agricultural fields but it has been blocked due to the construction of the Shamli-Ambala highway. They were facing waterlogging and demanded appropriate action to resolve the long-pending issue. The minister constituted a committee and also directed the NHAI to resolve the issue.

Some residents from Bihta village, and Ambala City raised the issues of waterlogging and poor drainage systems.

The cabinet minister further issued directions to the officials concerned in the complaints related to illegal possession, land dispute, stone-pitching work, theft, hanging power cables, insurance claim, and power supply.
