Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd (SEC) is channelling RM200,000 raised from its SEC Charity Golf Tournament 2026 to state welfare causes.
From the total proceeds raised at the Oct 31 event at Sutera Harbour Golf and Country Club, RM150,000 will go to Yayasan Kebajikan Sabah, with the remaining RM50,000 allocated for other local welfare bodies to be named later.
SEC Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Adzmir Abd Rahman (pic) said the responsibility of developing Sabah includes safeguarding the well-being of its people, particularly vulnerable families, students needing educational support, and individuals recovering from hardship.
He stressed that every contribution is a trust, pledging that all funds collected from sponsors and participants will be managed responsibly and directed strictly toward their intended charitable purposes.
Adzmir also thanked the event's sponsors, contributors, and golfers, noting that partnerships forged through business and sports serve as a vital platform for corporate players to address broader societal needs across the state.
