MANILA Water Co. Inc. said Tuesday that the relocation of sewer pipelines for the East Avenue subway station in Quezon City was nearing completion.
The water concessionaire said it had transferred 410 meters of sewer lines while remaining 67 meters to be finished within the first quarter of this year.
The underground pipes pass through Malakas Street, Matatag Street, Mapang-akit Street, Mabilis Street, and Maliksi Street in Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City.
Manila Water said motorists in the affected areas should take alternate routes for the meantime.
The Metro Manila subway project will be the country’s first underground mass transit system and is envisioned to significantly improve urban mobility across the metropolis.
Once completed, the line will have 17 stations connecting major cities including Valenzuela, Quezon, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Taguig, and Parañaque.
Manila Water's share price rose by 20 centavos to close at P40.40 apiece on Tuesday.
