There's nothing more inspiring than to meet a group of accomplished writers who are interested in contributing to Newswav during their free time.

I had an opportunity to meet six people who are willing to devote their time and pen their views, but never knew that they could earn passively for just sharing their thoughts and opinions on topics of their own choice by publishing it on a news aggregator like Newswav.

When told that Newswav shares ad revenue with content creators, they became even more interested.

Brought together by Dato' Syed Ahmad Idid, a member of our Senior Writers of Newswav, a group that we launched last October at the same venue, these people are mostly very accomplished in their professional careers but have never written for a popular content platform like Newswav.

Neither were they aware that such an opportunity existed and is easily available through Newswav.

The occasion was a book presentation to Dato' Syed Ahmad Idid from Pakistan High commissioner to Malaysia, General Karrar Ali Agha (Rtd) and was presented by Dato Mutalib on the author's behalf.

Also, Dato' Seri Akhbar Satar, formerly head of Transparency International Malaysia, presented his latest book "Corruption and Crime in Malaysia" to Dato' Syed Ahmad Idid. Later, Dato' Mutalib presented everyone with his coffee table book entitled "Expressions of Merdeka Malaysia".

Over lunch, we considered the possibility of launching another Newswav writers group consisting of these illustrious personalities to be known as "ProWriters of Newswav" and planned to meet to launch them as contributors to the platform during the second week of January.

This has since gathered momentum and many others have been invited to participate through recommendations by the members.

We appreciate the efforts of Dato' Syed Ahmad in putting the group together, and we look forward to meeting them soon at our Newswav Uptown offices to formally welcome them as regular contributors to the platform.

What an inspiring afternoon!
