Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Tennis Association (STA) kick started their calendar in the new year with the Sabah Junior Tennis tournament (first leg) in Sandakan on Friday.
A total of 43 players are taking part in the three-day competition held at the SandakanTennis Association courts in Jalan Utara Batu with the largest contingent from Kota Kinabalu with 23 players followed by Sandakan (15), Tawau (3) and Lahad Datu (2).
STA President Johnson Koh said the competition is open to both boys and girls in the Under-18, Under-16, Under-14, Under-12 and Under-10 categories.
He called on all the players to give their best in the competition and also praised the parents for their support.
Meanwhile, the second leg of the junior tournament will be held in Keningau from August 28-30.
