Thai crowned Miss Tourism International

Kota Kinabalu: Tia Li Taveepanichpan of Thailand was crowned the 2023/24 Miss Tourism International during the pageant’s grand coronation night at Sabah International Convention Center (SICC) here, last Saturday, out of 43 other world beauties.

She was crowned by Miss Tourism International 2022 Suphatra Kliangprom of Thailand, and brought home RM10,000, a crown, sash and a trophy.

The 27-year-old model and actress said she plans to advocate for sustainable tourism in Thailand and encourage the country’s leaders to cultivate an eco-friendly culture, as it is among countries with the worst air pollution in the world.

Jen Cheang Shi Hui of Malaysia was crowned Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan International 2023/24 pocketing RM3,000, a crown, sash and trophy and also won the Miss Friendship beneficiary title, taking home RM500 and a sash.

Karlee Davis of Australia was crowned Miss Tourism Global 2023/24 and took home RM3,000, a crown, sash and trophy and also won the Miss Elegant beneficiary title, pocketing RM500 and a sash.

Emily Cossey of the United Kingdom (UK) was crowned Miss Tourism Queen of The Year International 2023/24 and bagged RM3,000, a crown, sash and trophy.

Emily also won two other subsidiary titles, namely Miss Closest to Nature and Miss Photogenic, and brought home RM500 and a sash for each title.

Jeanette Reyes of the Philippines was crowned Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2023/24 and also won the Miss South East Asia Tourism Ambassadress 2023/24 special award.

She took home RM3,000, a crown, sash and trophy and another RM2,000, crown, sash and trophy for each title respectively.

The 44 delegates started off the grand coronation night with a dance performance whilst donning their eye-catching traditional costumes.

Malaysia’s Jen Cheang won the subsidiary title for Best in National Costume, bringing home RM500 and a sash.

For the talent portion of the pageant, five finalists who were selected during a preliminary talent round earlier in the week, performed their singing and traditional dances.

Macao’s Kaka Lao, 27, won the Best in Talent subsidiary title, pocketing RM500 and a sash.

Other subsidiary titles were awarded to Indonesia’s 26-year-old Tania for Best in Social Media and New Zealand’s Alpha Elianna Tan for Miss Popularity.

Both took home RM500 and a sash.
