SHAH ALAM – As Malaysians continued to express concern over the condition of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and pray for his well-being, three healthcare workers remained by his side.
The three workers, from Malay, Chinese and Indian backgrounds, were seen standing close to the former prime minister while monitoring his condition and ensuring he received the necessary medical care.
A photograph of the trio was shared by Public Health Malaysia (PHM) on Facebook, showing them carrying out their duties while maintaining strict hygiene practices, including regularly sanitising their hands to minimise the risk of infection.
According to PHM, the healthcare workers were among those closest to Dr Mahathir as Malaysians continued to follow developments concerning his condition.
“Thank you, our frontline workers, for taking care of Tun with dedication and the compassion of healthcare workers. Malaysia appreciates you,” PHM said.
The tribute came amid public mourning following the passing of Tun Dr Hasmah Mohd Ali, Dr Mahathir’s wife.
The photograph also highlighted the quiet dedication of healthcare workers who continued to carry out their responsibilities with care and compassion while attending to their patients.
