Books became the most prized possessions during the Annual Prize Giving Ceremony held at the school, where more than 250 books along with certificates were awarded to over 100 students in recognition of their outstanding achievements during the academic year 2025.The chief guest, Vikramaditya Singh, Minister for Public Works and Urban Development, Himachal Pradesh, presented the awards to the young achievers. Renowned as one of the world’s oldest co-educational residential schools, The Lawrence School honoured more than 100 students, including 60 girls, for excellence in over 60 curricular and co-curricular disciplines. The ceremony commenced with the felicitation of the chief guest, followed by ‘Saraswati Vandana’ and musical performances by the school’s talented violinists. The highlight of the event was the distribution of prizes to meritorious students. Recognising the school’s excellent performance in the recently declared CBSE Board examinations, more than 10 students received cash awards for securing the highest marks in various subjects. Fifteen students were awarded the Scholar’s Tie for consistently outstanding academic performance over the years. Reflecting the school’s commitment to value-based and experiential learning, more than 50 students were felicitated for excellence in over 30 co-curricular fields, including social work, multimedia, Indian music, Indian dance, robotics, band, fashion design, photography, dramatics, debating and artificial intelligence. The Durant Prize for English Literature and the Yog Raj Palta Memorial Art Trophy were awarded to Keerat Sandhu. The Cariappa Shield for the Best Boarding House was presented to Himalaya House. The occasion also witnessed the release of the annual school magazine, ‘The Sanawarian’, and the book ‘Trees of Sanawar’ by the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, Vikramaditya Singh lauded the holistic education imparted by the school and congratulated the students on their achievements in academics and co-curricular activities. He emphasised that true leadership lies not in winning trophies alone but in carrying success with humility. His inspiring address was

warmly received by the audience. Headmistress Ruchi Pradhan Datta, while proposing the vote of thanks, congratulated the award winners and expressed gratitude to the chief guest for his gracious presence.
