
TAWAU: A 69-year-old suspected of stealing items worth thousands of ringgit from a company, here, was arrested by police on Wednesday.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the suspect was apprehended at his home, located near the scene of the incident.
AdvertisementPolice also seized several items reported missing by the company on Dec 10, including a television, tables, chairs, gym equipment and a drawer.
“Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect acted alone and is believed to have used the items for personal purposes.

Read more “However, the police do not rule out the possibility that the items were intended for sale,” he said.
He said the suspect allegedly entered the premises and took the items, which were recovered during the raid.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code.
