Kota Kinabalu: Sandakan-born artiste Bella Astillah is set to celebrate her marriage to Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman with thousands of fellow Sabahans at Padang Merdeka here this Saturday.
Running from 10am to 4pm, the celebration is expected to draw approximately 10,000 members of the public alongside 500 guests.
For Bella, bringing the celebrations to Sabah holds deep personal significance as she shares the milestone with her home state.
The open event serves as a platform to highlight Sabah's cultural heritage, featuring local artists, traditional ethnic attire, and cultural dance performances.
Following their solemnisation at Merdeka 118 on Oct 10 and a reception at Mitec on Oct 18, the couple held a similar community reception in Muar on Oct 25 before arriving in Sabah.
Event director Ardie Arbain said the gathering is supported by strategic partners, sponsors, local artistes, and 100 production crew members.
Ardie added that 30 People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) personnel and police officers will be deployed on site to ensure public safety and smooth crowd management.
Visitors are advised to adhere to crew directions, keep emergency routes clear, supervise their children, and register via QR codes at designated public entrances.
