SANDAKAN: Three drug addict suspects were arrested during a Narcotik Tapis Ops carried out by the police on Wednesday.
The operation, which ran from 6am to 2.30pm, targeted drug distribution and abuse in the squatter area behind Taman Mesra, Mile 4.
District police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the suspects were apprehended for various offences under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
One was held under Sections 39B and 15(1)(a), another under Sections 39A(1) and 15(1)(a), while the third was detained under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the same Act.
Ahsmon reaffirmed the police's ongoing commitment to eradicating drug-related crime and safeguarding community wellbeing.
