
LAHAD DATU: Police arrested three Filipino nationals and seized more than 5 grams of Syabu in two separate operations at Jalan Silam and Jalan Pantai.
District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the arrests were made by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division on Wednesday and Thursday.
On Wednesday, two men were detained in operations at Jalan Pantai and Kampung Puyut. Their arrests led to the seizure of 0.52 grams of Syabu. Both suspects also tested positive for drug use.
“The cases are being investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
On Thursday, another Filipino, aged 27, was arrested during a raid on an unnumbered house at Jalan Air Pasang, Jalan Silam.
The suspect was detained at around 6.30pm after police found two packets of suspected Syabu weighing 5.75 grams. The drugs have an estimated street value of RM632.50.
“The suspect is being investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” Dzulbaharin added.
He said the operations reflect the Lahad Datu Police Headquarters’ continued efforts to combat drug-related crime in the district.
