Kota Kinabalu: Three State Heroes were honoured for their role in the struggle for Sabah’s independence. They were Tun Mohd Fuad Stephens, Tun Mustapha Harun and Datuk Gunsanad Samson Sundang @ G.S Sundang.
The awards were presented by Head of State Tun Musa Aman before an audience of about 35,000 people who gathered to celebrate Sabah Day 2025.
The celebration, held at Padang Merdeka, was enlivened with performances by the Pesaka Silat Arts Association, traditional dances by pupils of Sekolah Kebangsaan Mutiara, Kota Kinabalu, poetry recitations, Hiis chants, cultural performances and a fireworks display as the highlight of the event.
Earlier, the proclamation ceremony for Sabah Day 2025 was officiated by Musa, accompanied by distinguished guests attending the celebration.
Also present at the Padang Merdeka celebration was Toh Puan Faridah Tussin.
