
LAHAD DATU, Sept 1 — Three men were killed and another injured after the car they were travelling in skidded before plunging into a ravine on Jalan Hutan Simpan Bagahak, here yesterday.
Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station chief Sumsoa Rashid said his department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 7.38 pm before the team arrived at the location at 8.16 pm.
He said the accident involved a Proton Aeroback which was believed to have skidded on its own while going around a bend before plunging into a ravine about five metres deep.
“Three adult males have been confirmed dead by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) who were also at the scene.
“Another adult male sustained injuries and was sent to hospital using a MOH ambulance for further treatment,” he said in a statement.
Sumsoa said the bodies of the deceased victims were handed over to the police for further action and the search and rescue operation was ended at 8.45 pm. — Bernama
