Trough of LPA to bring rain over Visayas, eastern Mindanao —Pagasa

The trough of the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) would bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the  Visayas and eastern Mindanao, state weather bureau Pagasa reported before dawn Friday.

In its 4 a.m. weather advisory, Pagasa said the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Masbate, Sarangani, and South Cotabato would have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA's trough.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, it added.

Most parts of Luzon would have generally fair weather far from the trough of the LPA still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 5 a.m. Friday, Pagasa weather forecaster Obet Badrina said.

According to Pagasa, the Visayas will experience light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to northwest, causing slight to moderate coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast, causing slight to moderate coastal waters.

Pagasa warned of flash floods or landslides in areas experiencing moderate to sometimes heavy rain. (TMT)
