Trough of LPA  to bring scattered rain over eastern Luzon, Visayas —Pagasa

Eastern Luzon and the Visayas would have cloudy skies with scattered rain due to the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) 960 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon, according to state weather bureau Pagasa.

In its 3 a.m. advisory, Pagasa reported that the LPA has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Quezon, and Marinduque would have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA's trough extending westward from its center.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country would have partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Pagasa's wind speed forecast for Mindanao is light to moderate, moving from the south to southwest, causing slight to moderate coastal waters.

Also, Luzon and the Visayas would experience light to moderate winds moving from the northeast to northwest, causing slight to moderate coastal waters.

In addition, the weather bureau warned of flash floods or landslides in areas experiencing moderate to heavy rain and severe thunderstorms. (TMT)
