
LAHAD DATU: Two men were arrested in two separate operations by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division on Friday.
District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail, said the first suspect, a 43-year-olf Filipino was detained in the Reno Fajar area at 10am.
Further inspection on the suspect found a translucent plastic containing substance believed to be Syabu weighing 0.48 grammes.
In a second operation, a 37-year-old Filipino was detained at Jalan Ladang Permai at 3pm after police found six translucent plastic packets containing Syabu inside his bag.
The Syabu weighing 5.40 grammes was found with three aluminium foils.
“Both suspects tested positive for taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. Total of drugs seized are 5.88 grammes estimated worth RM646.80.
“Both suspects are currently remanded for further investigation under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) as well as Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,” he added.
Dzulbaharin added that the operations reflect Lahad Datu Police Headquarters’ commitment in combating drug activities in this district.
