
KENINGAU: Two men were killed and another was injured when an eight-tonne lorry carrying eggs overturned at Kampung Bariawa Ulu on Friday morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department said an emergency call was received at 9.08am and a team arrived at the scene seven minutes later.
Operations commander PBK I Ranizan Samirin said the lorry skidded before overturning, leaving one man with light injuries while two others were trapped in the dashboard and steering area.
Firefighters used RTA equipment and a telescopic ram to free the trapped men, who were later confirmed dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel.
Police, medical staff and Civil Defence officials assisted in the operation, which ended at 1.59pm, with the victims identified as a 58-year-old driver and an unidentified man.
