Kota Kinabalu: A total of sixteen teams are set to take part in the TYT’s Birthday Inter-Club Golf Championship 2022 organised by Sabah Golf Association (SGA) at Sabah Golf & Country Club (SGCC) this Saturday (September 10).
SGA president, Datuk Peter Khoo said on Wednesday that the tournament is held annually in conjunction with the official birthday of Sabah Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.
“It is on this occasion that we are able to display the spirit of sporting competitiveness and at the same time strengthening the bonds of friendship between clubs, teams and players.
“The event will also be used as a platform to identify new players to be included into the Sabah Team to feature in tournaments such as the SGA Cup as well as to promote tourism,” he said. According to him, the morning session is for the Inter-Club while the afternoon session is for Invitees, Club Officials and Sponsors.
Prizes will be awarded to the Best Gross Teams, Best Nett Teams and Invitees in addition to three Hole-In-One prizes (Proton X50 sponsored by Nash Hon, Proton X50 sponsored by Progressive Insurance Bhd and RM25,000 cash sponsored by CP Wish Risk Management Sdn Bhd).
