
MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern University (FEU) eked out a thrilling four-set win over Adamson, 22-25, 30-28, 25-17, 25-20, in the UAAP Season 88 women's volleyball tournament Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Lady Falcons tried to push for a decider, with Shaina Nitura and Frances Mordi keeping Adamson in the hunt at 17-all.
But FEU broke away with a 4-0 spurt capped by Lovely Lopez's hit, 21-17.
Nitura went crafty, but Lopez matched her kills, giving FEU a 23-19 edge.
Tin Ubaldo served an ace, but Nitura kept fighting, narrowing it to 24-20. Lopez swung strong and sealed the win, 25-20.
Faida Bakanke churned out 21 points on 17 attacks and five blocks to lead the Lady Tamaraws, while Aly Devosora put up 18 markers.
Nitura led Adamson with 22 points, 13 digs and 33 excellent receptions.
FEU, Adamson and University of Santo Tomas are all now tied with 2-2 each.
