
Kota Kinabalu: A unique and captivating performance, with a “Rumah Madani’ concept, will be presented to visitors at the Malaysia Day 2024 national celebration on Sept 16.
State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew, who is also Malaysia Day 2024 main committee co-chairman, said the performance comprising five segments will be delivered in dance form during the celebration at Padang Merdeka here.
“This special performance encompasses various aspects of Malaysia’s success, including resilience, unity, progress and national transformation. It involves 100 participants,” she said in an interview with Radio SabahFM, here, Monday.
“Various interesting events have been arranged to fuel the spirit of patriotism among the people in this country in celebration of Malaysia Day 2024 which we are hosting this year.”

Read more In this regard, she said a full rehearsal for the national-level Malaysia Day celebration will be held on Sept 14, starting at 6pm, at the Padang Merdeka, here, to ensure a smooth run for the actual event.
Liew said other events to be held include a welcome dance, signing a special book for Malaysia Day 2024, cutting the Malaysia Day cake, a Merdeka tour convoy and ceremony to receive the Jalur Gemilang.
She said the Malaysia Day celebration, themed “Rumah Madani: Jiwa Merdeka”, will also involve 85 members of the Royal Malaysia Police who are prepared to ensure the smooth running of the event.
She invited the public to join in the celebration and advised them to arrive early and use the public transportation that has been provided.
Liew said guests will be entertained by artistes from the Sabah Cultural Board as well as local artistes Elica Paujin, Faizal Tahir, Fauziah Gambus, Amir Jahari and Stacy, in addition to a fireworks display.
