International Yoga Day was celebrated with fervour at Ankur School, Sector-14, PU Campus, Chandigarh. Teachers and students came together to practise yoga on the school premises and gain a deeper understanding of its importance for physical, mental and emotional well-being. The students also actively participated in the National Yoga Olympiad (NYO) 2026, the theme of which was “Yoga for Healthy Ageing". To encourage students to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle, a range of awareness activities and yoga sessions were organised throughout the school. Creative competitions, including painting, slogan writing and essay writing, provided students with opportunities to express their understanding of the significance of yoga. In addition, students enthusiastically took part in the online yoga quiz by registering on the official portal. Principal Aruna Dhiman said Yoga is India’s priceless gift to the world, promoting discipline, inner peace and a healthy way of life. She encouraged everyone to make yoga an integral part of their daily routine. The celebration concluded with a collective pledge to lead a healthy, positive and a balanced life.
