In the first incident, two persons were injured when a Himachal-registered private bus turned turtle in the middle of the highway near Salogra on the Solan-Shimla National Highway on Saturday morning.
The bus was en route from Solan to Shimla when the accident reportedly occurred due to over-speeding and rash driving. Travelling at high speed, the bus crossed the divider and swerved into the opposite lane. A major mishap was averted as no vehicle was passing on the other side of the road at the time of the accident, local residents said.
The injured included the driver and another passenger. They were rushed to the Regional Hospital in Solan for treatment. There were 10 to 12 passengers on board the bus, all of them locals. A police team reached the spot after receiving information and initiated the necessary action.
In another incident, two persons were grievously injured when a pickup utility vehicle collided head-on with a motorcycle near Kotho village on the Solan-Rajgarh road on Saturday.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when the pickup vehicle was attempting to overtake a bus and collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The mishap caused a traffic snarl in the area.
Of the two motorcycle riders injured in the accident, one sustained serious injuries. Both were rushed to the Regional Hospital in Solan for treatment.
