Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has explained his decision to sell Florian Lejeune.
The French center back moved on to Alaves after impressing there on loan last season.
A fan on BBC Radio Newcastle asked why Lejeune was moved on by Bruce.
Bruce responded: "We had six centre-backs.
"The big thing with Florian was he had two knee injuries.
"He needed to get games under his belt.
"And I felt that the intensity in the Premier League meant he was better suited to La Liga."
