
NABAWAN: Elisa Densy Markus was crowned Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan Nabawan after beating 10 other competitors at the district-level Kaamatan Festival here.
Elisa, who brought home a cash prize of RM2,000, trophy and other prizes, will represent the district at the State-level Unduk Ngadau competition.
Meanwhile, Melvevia Keven took second place and brought home RM1,500 cash prize along with trophy and other prizes and will represent Pagalungan sub-district at State-level while Genevie Gabriel Gawis took third place, winning RM800, trophy and other prizes.
State Minister of Youth and Sports, Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin, officiated the Kaamatan Festival.
Also present were Sabah Land Development Board (SLDB) Chairman and Nabawan Assemblyman, Datuk Abdul Ghani Mohamed Yassin; Senator Datuk Bobbey A.Suan, Melalap Assemblyman, Datuk Peter Anthony; District Officer and Chairman of the District Level Kaamatan Festival, Peter Jonu Moinjil, Keningau District Officer Walter Kinson and Tambunan District Officer Sobitun Makanjil
In the Sugandoi competition, Rushdy Raphael Mantui and Syamson Tingkalur emerged as champions while third place went to Jordan Jalin.
Rushdy and Syamson will represent Nabawan and Pagalungan, respectively, at the State-level Sugandoi competition.
Deputy Minister of Works and Pensiangan MP, Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, officiated at the Sugandoi competition and presented prizes to the winner.
Meanwhile Azlan Amot emerges the champion of Mr Kaamatan Nabawan after beating eight other participants while second and third placings went to Liefhiro Ubin and Mathius Ubin, respectrively. Azlan and Liefhiro will represent Nabawan and Pagalungan, respectively.
