VETERAN forward Calvin Abueva of Converge will be out for at least three more games before his new team unleashes the “Beast” in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Season 50.

The 38-year-old Abueva missed the FiberXers’ 102-94 victory against the Macau Black Knights during the conference-opening game last Wednesday.

“Maybe two or three more games, he’ll just rest first,” said Converge head coach Delta Pineda, who explained that Abueva has been dealing with a hamstring issue.

Pineda later jokingly poked fun on the “Beast,” saying that age is fast catching up on the energetic forward, whom the team acquired in a trade recently.

“He’s already aging, maybe he thinks he’s still strong,” the coach said with a grin.

Abueva played limited minutes during the recent PBA All-Star game for Team North which beat Team South, 147-142, last Sunday.
