Airline passenger advisories issued ahead of All Saints' Day

LOCAL budget carriers Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) and AirAsia Philippines have issued separate travel advisories ahead of the All Saints' Day break, reminding passengers to arrive early at the airport to avoid peak-season congestion.

Cebu Pacific advised travelers to arrive at least three hours before departure for domestic flights, and four hours for international flights.

Long lines can be avoided by checking in via the official CEB mobile app or through the Manage Booking section of the CEB website. Passengers should also review the baggage policy, which allows up to 10 kilograms of hand-carry items for Cebu Pacific flights.

For international trips, travelers must complete their e-Travel forms within 72 hours before departure from and arrival to the Philippines, and save the QR code generated at the end of the form.

Portable electronic devices such as phones, laptops, power banks, and tablets must be placed in hand-carry baggage and are strictly prohibited in checked baggage.

Cebu Pacific also reminded passengers traveling to select destinations — Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Caticlan, Cauayan, Clark, Coron, Davao, El Nido, General Santos, Iloilo, Legazpi, Manila, Pagadian, Puerto Princesa, Siargao, Surigao, Tacloban, Tagbilaran, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga — to use self-tag luggage kiosks at the airport before proceeding to bag drop counters.

AirAsia Philippines said travelers bringing extra belongings for family gatherings and holiday trips can choose a baggage allowance ranging from 15 kilograms to 60 kilograms, as long as the total weight stays within their purchased limit and no single bag exceeds 32 kilograms.

AirAsia noted that passengers can save up to P919 by pre-booking baggage online instead of purchasing it at the airport. Additional baggage can be pre-booked up to two hours before the scheduled departure.

It added that passengers may bring one cabin bag and one small bag onboard, provided the combined weight of both items does not exceed 7 kilograms.

Passengers, including those traveling under group bookings, are encouraged to complete self check-in through the AirAsia MOVE app or the AirAsia website in advance. Self check-in is available from 14 days up to one hour before departure.
