MANILA, Philippines — Ateneo men's basketball team members Kieffer Alas and Sam Reyes said that as far as they're concerned, their parents gave them consent to train in Dipaculao, Aurora, where their teammates Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili drowned.
Both players answered "yes" when broadcast journalist Pia Hontiveros asked them on the "Let's talk" podcast Tuesday if their parents consented to their training in Aurora.
Alas added:
"I'm not really sure (if it's verbal consent) but I'm pretty sure I know me and Sam's parents said ‘yes’".
