In conjunction with Eid al-Fitr celebrations, I received many hampers from business associates, including my long-time friend, Tan Sri Dato' Dr. R. Palan, a social entrepreneur, educator and author. He currently serves as the Pro-Chancellor of the University of Cyberjaya & the Founder of some public listed companies and Yayasan Palan. He has more than four decades of global experience as educator in human resources development & entrepreneurship. My family and I are grateful with Tan Sri Dr. Palan that despite of the tight business commitments and constant overseas travels could still remember to arrange for his office to sent Eid al-Fitr hamper every year to my home. These thoughtfully prepared Eid gifts reflect the power of our friendship & cultural traditions of hospitality, enhancing the festive atmosphere of togetherness. It is cultivating stronger relationships with best friends and business partners. The hampers contain food, sweets, and items love by my grandchildren which act as a warm greeting, teaching them human values of sharing blessings.
In reciprocal, when collecting Tan Sri Dr. Palan's hamper from my residence Guard House, I presented Rhododendron Tea bags from the Himalayas to our Nepalese security guards. It was a nostalgic event as they missed the premium teas from their homeland ever since being employed in Malaysia for the past 5 years. I am happy these good team of Nepalese can also celebrate the joy of Eid by sipping sweet Himalayas teas that I brought from Kathmandu.
