Personnel from the Pasay City Sub-Station 1 arrested a vehicle theft suspect on Sept. 7 for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 10883, otherwise known as the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.
Police investigation showed that the suspect, identified as alias ‘Michael’, 46, single, unemployed, and a resident of Barangay 156 in the city, was arrested at about 11:42 p.m. at the corner of Aurora Boulevard and Tramo St., Barangay 156.
The incident was reported to Sub-Station 1 at about 11:30 p.m. on September 6, 2026, after the complainant, identified as ‘Loyd,’ reported that his motorcycle had been stolen.
Based on the complainant's account, the motorcycle was parked by his son on September 5, 2026, in the alley near their residence in Barangay 14, Pasay City, with the ignition key still inserted. The motorcycle was later reported missing.
Acting on the report, Sub-Station 1 personnel, together with the complainant, proceeded to the area and requested the review of available CCTV footage.
The footage showed a man wearing a red jacket and black pants, carrying a helmet, taking the motorcycle and driving it away. Another man was also seen accompanying the suspect and appeared to be acting as a lookout.
Further inquiry and verification in the area led to the identification of the two as alias ‘Jayson’, 39, and alias ‘Michael’, 46.
Subsequent CCTV review in the Tramo area, Barangay 156, Pasay City, showed Michael allegedly using and riding the same stolen motorcycle on September 6, 2026, further establishing his alleged involvement in the theft.
During the follow-up operation conducted by personnel of Sub-Station 1, under the supervision of Police Captain Dennis Desaliasa, Officer in Charge, Sub-Station 1, together with Police Master Sergeant Abel Ambulario and Police Staff Sergeant Ronnie Lascon, the suspect was arrested.
However, the motorcycle, described as a blue/gray Yamaha Mio i125, 2017 Model, with Plate No. 514NWR, has yet to be recovered.
Meanwhile, continuous follow-up operations are underway to arrest the suspect's companion, alias 'Jay', and recover the motorcycle.
The arrested suspect was brought to Sub-Station 1, Pasay CPS, and subsequently taken to the Pasay City General Hospital for physical examination. The case will be referred to the Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS), Pasay CPS, for investigation and proper disposition.
