MANILA, Philippines — Filipino billiards hall of famer Carlo Biado continued to show his dominance in the pool, as he took the crown in the 2026 Predator PBC Indonesia International Open in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Biado took the title in an all-Filipino final against Paolo Gallito, in a close victory, 10-9.
Gallito was close to taking the title, after leading over Biado in the final frame, until the hall of famer secured the victory.
Biado’s victory marked the third straight year that a Filipino cue artist won the Predator PBC tournament in Jakarta, with Jeffrey Ignacio and Sean Mark Malayan being the champions in the last two editions.
In a Facebook post, Biado also congratulated Gallito for an amazing tournament.
“To my opponent, Paolo Gallito, congratulations on an amazing tournament. Thank you for making every Filipino proud. Your time will come—keep believing and keep working,” Biado wrote.
In a video posted on Biado’s page, he said he was lucky and his victory was unexpected.
“I was down, but I never gave up,” he said.
Gallito, meanwhile, said it was “destiny” that Biado won the tournament.
Biado’s next stop is the Asian Pool Championship in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
“Time to defend my title at the Asian Pool Championship. I’m ready to give my very best once again and proudly represent the Philippines… See you in Vietnam. Let’s keep raising the Philippine flag high!” he wrote.
