
MANILA, Philippines — Bennie Boatwright scored the go-ahead dunk while CJ Perez sealed the win with a layup as San Miguel Beer scraped past NLEX, 98-94 to snap its two-game losing skid in the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
The 6-10 Boatwright made a triumphant PBA return as he finished with 41 points, supplying the steady offense both inside and outside to help the Beermen snap their two-game skid.
SMB improved to an even 4-4 record as it revived its playoff hopes.
The loss ended NLEX’s four-game winning streak and dropped to 6-2.
Marcio Lassiter scored 16 points, Perez, Jericho Cruz and June Mar Fajardo scored 10 or more points.
