Magnolia hammers Converge, wins back-to-back

MANILA, Philippines — Magnolia registered its second straight win after clobbering Converge, 106-94, in the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup on Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The Hotshots trailed briefly, before dominating the FiberXers from there, en route to booking their fourth win in eight starts and tying the San Miguel Beermen in the standings.

It was a confidence -boosting win for Magnolia since opening the conference with three straight losses.

Converge fell to 2-6.

Import Clint Chapman led the Hotshots with 22 points and 14 rebounds while Zavier Lucero added 17 and 14 boards.  Juan Gomez De Liano led Converge with 22 points while Alec Stockton 17.RICHARD DY
