Ginebra wins 3rd straight, routs free-falling Terrafirma

MANILA, Philippines —Stephen Holt led Barangay Ginebra’s third quarter offensive as the Gin Kings rolled past free-falling Terrafirma Dyip, 111-103 to boost its PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup playoff bid on Saturday at the Ynares Center in Montalban, Rizal.

Holt scored 12 points in the Gin Kings’ critical 35-21 third quarter exchange to seize control of the game for good.

Ginebra moved up to 5-2, in a share of third to fifth spots with Meralco and TNT, which turned back Titan Ultra, 97-92 earlier in the day.

The Dyip dropped their fifth straight game since opening the conference wit three consecutive wins.

Justin Brownlee led Ginebra with 28 points, spiked by 5-of-6 threes, along with nine rebounds and five assists.

Holt and RJ Abarrientos scored 17 apiece, while Scottie Thompson chipped in 10 markers, four rebounds and six assists.

Jerrick Ahanmisi led Terrafirma with 27 points, while rookie Shawn Umali added 15.

Import Ali Mubashar had another subpar effort of just 14 on just 5-of-14 shooting, while grabbing 10 rebounds.
