The damaged boundary wall of the green belt adjacent to Nirmal Kutia in Sector-13 has become a persistent issue and a growing concern for local residents. Several gaps in the wall give easy access to outsiders, leading to unhygienic conditions and raising safety concerns in the area.

Residents allege that every morning, people enter the green belt through the gaps and defecate in the open. They said this has not only made the area dirty and unhygienic but has also affected the beauty and utility of the green belt, which was developed for recreation and environmental improvement.

They further alleged that despite repeated complaints, no steps have been taken to repair the damaged sections of the wall. They pointed out that sacks of cement have been lying inside the green belt for more than two months for construction work, but the gaps remain unattended.

“The green belt is getting dirtier every day. Few residents now want to visit,” said Sunil Kumar, a local resident. He said the condition of the park has deteriorated significantly due to lack of maintenance and monitoring.

Rajiv, another resident, said several complaints had been submitted to the concerned authorities, but no concrete action had been taken so far. “We have informed the authorities many times, yet nothing has changed. The problem continues every day,” he said.

Vipin, another resident, expressed concern over security and said the open gaps not only allow misuse of the green belt but also provide easy access to anti-social elements. “The damaged wall poses a threat to nearby houses as anyone can enter through these openings,” he said.

Locals have urged the authorities to take immediate action to repair the damaged portions and construct a complete boundary wall around the green belt. They believe timely repairs will help restore cleanliness, improve security, and preserve the green space.

A senior official of Karnal Municipal Corporation said all gaps in the boundary wall will be filled soon.
