MANILA, Philippines — The FEU Lady Tamaraws avenged their first round loss to the NU Lady Bulldogs, hacking out a 5-set thrilling win this time, 25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 21-25, 22-20, in the UAAP Season 88 women's volleyball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum Sunday.

Jaz Ellarina delivered the match-clinching ace as FEU converted its sixth match point, averting another reverse sweep loss that NU was threatening to deliver as it did in their first round clash.

The Lady Bulldogs even had two match points but couldn't convert, ultimately paving the way for Love Lopez to put the Lady Tams at match point with a through-the-block hit, and then Ellarina sealed the win for FEU with her ace.

Lopez pumped eight of her 19 points in the fifth set, and logged 25 excellent receptions on top of 14 digs to lead the Lady Tamaraws, who notched their second straight win to rise to 6-3 for a share of second place with the Lady Bulldogs.

Sam Cantanda paced the defending champ NU with 20 points, 20 receptions, and 13 digs.
